        • Proof of accommodation, such as hotel bookings or reservations.

      • Medical Records (Required)

          • A valid polio (OPV) certificate is required. The dose of OPV should be taken at least four weeks prior to the departure from India.
          • A health certificate confirming vaccination against yellow fever. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is valid for 10 years, beginning 10 days after vaccination. Vaccination shot to be taken accordingly.
      • Financial Records (Required)

          • Updated bank statement for the last 6 months.
          • Proof of funds and a declaration stating that the traveler holds sufficient funds to cover the period of stay at USD 50 per day and that the traveler will stay in a foreign tourist hotel in Ethiopia.
      • Invitation Letter (Optional)

        • If visiting friends or relatives a letter of invitation/ sponsorship letter (duly attested by the Ministry of Immigration, in Ethiopia) is required.

        If you are planning to stay in Ethiopia for not more than 30 days, you can seek a tourist visa on arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. For this purpose, visitors will need to bring with them two recent passport-sized photographs along with an amount of US $50 before their application can be processed. If the verification is confirmed and your documents are in order, the visa will be stamped on your passport.

        Application Guide for Other Visa Types

        For periods of stay longer than 30 days (of tourism) and for other purposes, you need to apply for an Ethiopian visa through the embassy or consulate general located in India.

        Please note that for business visa, you require advising the invitee (counterpart in Ethiopia) to approach the Immigration office in Ethiopia with the invitation letter to seek their approval for a business visa for their guests coming for a short meeting, conference, installation of machinery, NGOs, international organisations' official business, government work, teaching assignment, employment, exhibitions etc. Immigration office shall issue written permission for issuance of type and duration of business visa and shall forward to Ethiopian embassy in New Delhi. After receiving the approval from Immigration office, immediately the consular section of the embassy shall issue necessary visa according to the instructions. Applicants whose invitations have been approved as per above procedure (invitee should inform their guests after immigration's approval), can continue with their application through the embassy. 

        To begin the process, please fill up the visa application form with all necessary details and sign it. Furnish all the supporting forms from the document checklist section and attach it to your application.

        Next, submit your application at the designated center according to your location and jurisdiction, along with the applicable fees. Once the visa is approved, you can collect the stamped passport from the office.
